2009-11-28 02:25:53 - HAUSKEEPERMost of you have seen the show so theres not alot I can add about that.... The Old Vic's a really cool very old theatre, I think it was more used for plays and theatre than hosting live bands. We were ushered to our seats by some very freindly elderly gentlemen, I remember thinking " Fuck they have no idea whats about to go off". The support band pulled out at the last minute, so we were entertained by four ad-libing old geezers playing some wierd kind of jazz, they were actually very entertaining and genuinely funny. We figured out pretty quickly that that we had crap seats, so we mooched around for what seemed like forever down by the mens toilets. The toilets were right down the front and off to the left of the stage. As soon as the house lights went down we made a mad dash for the front of the stage which was about 20 feet away. Everybody had the same idea, the place eruptedd with people running down the isles and climbing over seats to get to the front. We ended up right against the stage just below were David J stood. The crush was unreal, the area between the first row of seats and the stage was like 20-25 feet and it filled up quickly. I felt kinda sorry for all those who had sat nicely in there front row seats waiting for the show to begin, only to find out they were now standing behind a sea of people. David Bowie was in attendence, he was sitting up on the balcony in a private area off to one side. Word spread pretty quickly so he wasn't hard to spot. He left after a few numbers I think he was only there to check them out for The Hunger movie. |
